Our History

In 1996 Richard F. Stott and Hank Flynn, who both maintained separate practices in Southampton, NY, began working together on selected commissions, including commercial and institutional projects for North Fork Bank and Southampton Hospital. In 1998 the firm Flynn + Stott Architects, P.C. was established.

Ten years later after over one hundred completed projects, Flynn+Stott Architects, P.C. launched Steelbone Design Company. Steelbone Design Company is comprised of three distinct practice areas: architecture, graphic design and engineering. The services provided are highly integrated, supporting a continuum among architecture, custom design furniture, graphic design and structural and civil engineering.

The Firm principals and associates hold either Bachelor or Master of Architecture degrees from some of America’s top architectural design schools. We have a well-established list of professional consultants whom we have worked with for many years, including other architects, landscape architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, audio, visual, security and communications specialists.
