Steelbone Background Information
Steelbone Design Company offers a broad base of experience. The firm was launched in June 2008 by Richard F. Stott, an architect with extensive background in designing buildings, and remains President of Flynn+Stott Architects, P.C., a 10-year-old Southampton architectural firm. Steelbone is comprised of three distinct practice areas: architecture, graphic design and engineering. The services provided are highly integrated, supporting a continuum among architecture, custom design furniture, graphic design, and structural and civil engineering.
The architectural practice has designed over 100 buildings across the country encompassing many building types: corporate headquarters and office buildings; healthcare facilities; civic projects including police stations, memorials and village squares; sports recreation centers; a variety of college buildings; museums, theaters and public libraries; hotels; as well as both multifamily and private residential projects. Steelbone’s graphic design studio provides design services for all of the firm’s architectural projects, while maintaining an extensive stand-alone practice. The firm’s structural and civil engineering practice provides services for nearly 200 architects on Long Island’s East End including the Department for Environmental Conservation (DEC) and the local conservation board for wetland permits. |
